Interior: planning & selection

Often our clients find themselves with decorating challenges that include complicated angles, conflicting focal points, disagreements in style or color selection, or overwhelmed and confused. Our consultation process helps you pull it all together and achieve your desired effect.

Interior planning begins with a one-on-one personal consultation to discuss the vision and scope of the project. This beginning stage is a “Getting to Know You” interview for both client and designer. Questions are asked to understand the wants, needs, and desires of the client. A visual tour of the space assists in planning the concept.

Here is how it works:

Phase I - Planning
Phase II - Selection
Plan A - Simplified Plan
Plan B - Comprehensive Plan

Phase I - Planning
  • One-on-one personal consultation to discuss the vision & scope of the project
  • Conduct a walk through analysis of the current space and décor
  • Discuss your style, color preferences, special uses and needs, and goals for space. We find out your likes and dislikes.
  • Review furniture and accessories and assess if they will be used, refurbished or replaced.
  • Discuss all functions for the space and the number of people occupying or using the space.
  • Analyze the current placement of furniture and circulation patterns.
  • Review lighting sources, electrical & heating and structural features.
  • Discuss budget and fees for project.
  • Review timing considerations.
  • Document your current interior with photos for “before & after” results.
  • Obtain a deposit for planning stage.
  • Develop a comprehensive plan of action for your review within agreed time after the consultation visit.
